Surgery to repair arteries (penile arterial reconstructive surgery) can reduce impotence caused by obstructions that block the flow of blood to the penis. The best candidates for such surgery are young men with discrete blockage of an artery because of a physical injury to the pubic area or a fracture of the pelvis. The procedure is less successful in older men with widespread blockage of arteries.
Men in their 40s with erectile dysfunction (ED) compared with men without a history of ED have an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD) in 5 years. .
Coronary Artery DiseaseCoronary artery disease (CAD) and ED frequently occur concomitantly due to mutual risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. In men with CAD, the incidence of ED is estimated to be 42% to 57%. Because the primary cause of ED is vasculogenic, ED can precede CAD, stroke, and peripheral artery disease by an average of 3 years.27,28 The package insert for PDE5Is cautions providers about using these agents in patients with uncontrolled hypertension (>170/100 mmHg), CAD with unstable angina, or a history of myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, or life-threatening arrhythmia within the past 6 months.8-11 The primary concern with using PDE5Is in these patients is that the physical demands of intercourse could provoke a CV event.
This is a cream applied to the penis. It uses the same drug of alprostadil that some current ED sufferers use with injections now. If the cream is approved, it may take the place of the injection method.
The data collectors were given 1 day of training on the purpose of the study and the data collection procedures. A pretest was carried out on 5 sildenafil users that came to two randomly selected pharmacies in the town. Based on the results, modifications (removal of questions that were not feasible in the current setup and/or re-writing of the wordings in simpler forms) were applied to the questionnaire and those participants in the pretest were excluded from the final study. The collected data were checked for completeness and consistency each day before entering into the software for analysis.

The phrase “penis exercise” actually refers to exercises known as pelvic floor or Kegel exercises, in which a man focuses on strengthening the muscles that control the flow of urine and ejaculation. These exercises are often recommended to men who are recovering from prostate cancer treatment, have problems with ejaculation, or have a hard time holding their urine, but they do not appear to help erectile dysfunction.
It’s best to avoid drinking alcohol when taking sildenafil. If you do choose to drink, then you should limit the quantity to one or two units as alcohol can reduce the effectiveness of sildenafil. Also, as both alcohol and sildenafil can lower blood pressure you may find that you feel dizzy and ruin your enjoyment of the experience.
Lie on the ground with your knees bent, feet flat on the floor, and arms by your sides.
It can damage your confidence and relationships, and delay family planning. But before you start losing hope, rest assured that the odds of reversing ED or impotence are pretty high. Numerous studies have shown that many men who report ED improve by tweaking lifestyle factors including physical activities.
In the current study, most of the participants reported that they got information about sildenafil primarily from their friends. Similar results were reported in other studies in which friends, the internet, and sex shops were the primary source of information (6). Information sought from sources other than health professionals could lead to unexpected consequences that could be directly related to the medication (sildenafil) itself, such as priapism or due to an interaction between sildenafil and other medications the user may take or comorbid conditions he/she may have (4, 5, 13–18). The recreational use of sildenafil was also associated with vision changes (24).
As everybody is different, in many cases it can be impossible to tell which ED treatment will be most effective. Drugs such as Viagra, Sildenafil, Cialis, Tadalafil, Levitra and Spedra are similar in some respects, but take effect in different ways.
